Astrid Kaminski works in the areas of publishing, arts and crafts from Berlin, Brussels and Athens. Her interests often revolve around the transfer of text into other media or cognitive areas and vice versa. In recent years, two major topic areas have been central to her thinking: the cultural-historical and ontological significance of the sea as well as different approaches to politics and practice of friendship, its continuation in hospitality and effects on different forms of life. Craft work and learning and research in collaboration with “nature” are also important components.

 

From 2009 to 2020 she was one of the most active journalistic voices in the field of dance and performance (in German-speaking countries and beyond). Since then she stopped writing reviews but continues to do essay writing, dramaturgical and curatorial work in the field.
