Diolithos is a collaborative game with two pebbles. It is loosely based on the millennia-old tradition of (competitive) pebble and bone games, called astragaloi in Greek. It still occurs worldwide today. Diolithos is played in pairs by letting the pebbles fly back and forth between the partners as often as possible without that they fall. It can also be played in groups. The play has a meditative pull and improves concentration, posture and motor skills.

Diolithos consists of the pebbles, a Greek ceramic yogurt cup, a turned wooden lid made of different woods, a seaweed pillow and an essay on the history of pebbles.

THE

RUGOSA

WORKSHOPS

Under the expertise of Hans Schoof, I develop everyday objects from wood. Most of the objects are parts of upcycling series made from used (yoghurt and preserving) jars and leftover pieces of firewood or found wood. Upon request, objects from personal pieces of wood can be developped, e.g. from garden trees. Part of the workshops also includes pyrography.

Our Rugosa products are used at guest meals that I organize together with the culinary artist Katrin Thomaneck.
